Last year at walking distance from Punta la Barca, a wonderful Montessori initiative has been given life by Raphaela, a French-Ecuadorean mom of two. She gathered the homeschooling families in the neighbourhood to form “La Aldea”, a community of families valuing a more self-directed, nature-based, holistic education for their kids. Approaching now its first year’s birthday, there is so much to celebrate for La Aldea. It has turned into an amazing community, gathering between 5-20 kids up to 12 years old each weekday morning. And, La Aldea is also accepting travelers’ kids to join in on a monthly basis 🤗❤🔥.
Is your heart also jumping up hearing this news ❤🙌?
-> Consider joining in! You can start out with one month and go seeing from there.
-> Parents can accompany, make suggestions and volunteer
-> Interest-led real-life learning with the well-being of the kid’s central
-> Some quick stories to feel into what the last year has brought.. an 8-year-old exploring his interest for countries to the bottom.. a band of 6-9 year-olds playing music 😮🙌🔥 for over 30 people.. workshops on non-violent communication.. a 5-year old after 5 months speaking two new languages.. And over all, a bunch of happy kids and families ❤😊
-> From time to time there is a spot for a full time volunteer for the Montessori school. Do you love kids, have experience in alternative education, or want to share a particular skill with our future generation (woodworking, photography, languages, etc)? You offer 20 hours of weekly help at the school while staying for free at Punta la Barca. Send us a personal message with your motivation for helping the Montessori!
-> There are too few of these places in the world, and now there is one here close to Manta ==>> Share it with other families who you know are looking for such gems!
